Our Team.
Michelle Porche earned her Masters of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at San Diego State University, with an emphasis in psychiatric rehabilitation. She also studied law, using her personal and professional experience to advocate for others before starting the nonprofit in conjunction with Daniel Cox in 2016.
Mitchell Porche is an entrepreneur, MTA consultant and co-sponsor of this mission. As a family member of Michelle’s, his perspective and support are invaluable. He studied Business Administration and Finance at San Diego State University earning his Bachelor’s degree in 1995.
Daniel Cox is a retired U.S. Marine with a background managing programs in both sexual assault prevention and substance abuse reduction. He has a bachelors degree in business administration from National University and has served on our board since its inception in 2016.

Karen Wilshe is a retired Information Technology executive. She and a group of parents worked with San Diego Unified School District to create a Speech Language Intensive program for children with high functioning autism. Over the years, Karen has supported and advised families of children with special needs.

Raymond Provost is a new member of the My True Abilities team. For the past 9 years he has been working as a Project Manager and Electrical Engineer for the United States Navy working in transitioning Research & Development programs. The primary mission at his day-to-day job is creating custom solutions and producing functional parts for unique engineering challenges. Prior to his current position, Raymond retired from the United States Marine Corps after 15 years of service. Raymond is an avid hiker and scuba diver, and while not native to San Diego, he has made it his home for the past 12 years. He looks forward to aiding MTA’s growth, helping the organization grow, and investing in his adopted home community.
